Bio

Unlike its name implies, Frosty Ferns are not true ferns and are more of a fern-cousin in the family Selaginella. They are comparable to spike moss and other creeping varieties.

They have simple, scale-like leaves on branching stems from which roots also arise. There are over 700 species of Selaginella which show a wide range of characteristics.

They can be used for edging, covering pillars, hanging baskets and terrariums. Most wild species are found in tropical America and Asia, but some come from Japan, North America, South African and Australia.
